Aftercare success stories

With generous support from the Barra Foundation, New Directions’ aftercare program is currently reaching out to over 40 graduates. Women receive help with issues ranging from housing placement and assistance to parenting skills.

The National Institute of Corrections performed studies showing that women with substance abuse issues who completed an aftercare program post-incarceration were 80% less likely to become reincarcerated. As staggering as that is, we are most impressed by those graduates we know personally who participate in aftercare and whose lives continue to improve!
